On August 16, learner’s license applicants used the Sundays River Valley Municipality’s (SRVM) computerised learners license testing system for the first time.

The new system which comprises of six tablets, will reduce fraud and corruption during application and issuing of learner’s licenses.

SRVM conducts learners’ tests for Code 1 (Motorcycle), Code 2 (Light motor vehicle) and Code 3 (Heavy motor vehicle).

The cost for the learner’s test is R213 and an additional R69 for issuing of the learner’s license for applicants who pass the test.

Applicants are required to bring along their Identity Document or passport, two Identity Document photos and proof of address when they make their booking.

The eye test will be conducted at the SRVM’s Traffic Unit.

Learners license applicants are urged to visit the National Traffic Information System to download documents to read and prepare for the test.

For more information contact 042 230 7753 or send an enquiry to the municipality’s WhatsApp line on 078 266 6230. Also, follow the Sundays River Valley Municipality Facebook page for updates.
