THE Rotary Club of Uitenhage South hosted one of over 100 “Rotary Family Health Days” which were held nationally last week.

It took place at the LoveLife Centre in KwaNobuhle and it was a roaring success, giving help on a huge range of health related issues to over 1 060 people.

Many services from the Department of Health, which through the usual process sometimes takes months to access, were readily available at the event.

Augmenting the Department were a number of non-govermental organisation offering their help and advice as well as extras like the Colgate full service dental clinic which offered instant accessible treatment.

According to Meant Nathoo, president of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South, free reading glasses were available, which the Rotary Club had donated.

“The heart-warming smiles on the recipients’ faces when they suddenly were able to read were unbelievable,” said Nathoo.
