NEWLY elected Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, Nqaba Bhanga, has the following message for residents of Uitenhage and Despatch:
“I want to take this opportunity to wish all our residents a blessed holiday season. 2020 has been an exceptionally challenging year for all of us, as our lives have been disrupted by the global Coronavirus pandemic. Everything from how we work, how we educate and how we socialise has changed.
Many have been looking forward to the December holiday season, which is usually a time to relax and recharge before we head into the new year. Unfortunately, the shadow of the pandemic is still upon us, and we need to continue to be vigilant in our efforts to curb the spread of this deadly disease.
Please continue to take the necessary precautions: Practise safe social distancing, wear your mask and sanitise regularly. Only by working together, will we be able to turn the tide and bring this disease under control.
Let us spend this time giving thanks for our blessings in the face of adversity, remember those less fortunate than ourselves, and appreciate the time we get to spend with our loved ones.
