SAPS Kariega opened an attempted murder case after a shooting incident earlier today, September 12, 2024, in Kariega.
At approximately 09:00, SAPS Kariega members responded to a complaint of a shooting at the magistrate’s court in Kariega.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said, “On arrival, they were informed that the victim (31) was shot while at the taxi rank and he ran to the magistrate’s court where he collapsed at the entrance. The victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment.”
No statement was obtained, and the motive and suspects are unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
