A man has died and a teenager injured after a vehicle overturned on the Rocklands Road just outside Kariega yesterday morning, November 12.
At approximately 10:00, the two were travelling in a Chevrolet SUV from KwaNobuhle in the direction of Kariega when the accident took place.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the driver allegedly left the road, causing his vehicle to overturn. Charles Mabindisa (55) was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
“The 13-year-old passenger was taken to hospital for treatment. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
