Local model and singer Chad Varnicker will be performing at the Klinicare Wings and Wheels Air Show which will be held on Saturday, 2 April at the Uitenhage Airfield.
Chad is a former Boardwalk Idol, Sing to Win winner and Supersterre top 11 finalist. And like the situation with most artists, it will also be his first performance on stage after an absence of three years owing to the pandemic.
He has performed at various festivals and corporate events and has shared stages with national artists like Bobby van Jaarsveld, Kurt Darren and Elizma Theron to name a few.
“I will be dedicating my 30-minute slot to my late mother Patricia, who passed away during August last year. She never missed any of my performances and was my biggest cheerleader. I miss her face in the crowd,” said Chad.
“It’s been a tough life journey. This pandemic has taught me the fragility of life and now more than ever to live out my passions.”
Chad will be performing eight songs with a bit of Afrikaans, some new songs, some old and a bit of rock.
His favourite saying is, “Make the sky your ceiling, the earth your stage ,and your life a tribute in excelling in all that you love.”
Chad’s performance will be at 14:15 on the main stage.
He said he would “love to do a tandem skydive and also love flying.”
- It will be the 8th Klinicare Wings and Wheels Air Show and the actual air show will be from 10:00 to 12:00. Aircraft like the L29 and L39 fighter jets, a Harvard as well as a Boeing Stearman will be seen in action. Tickets are R100 for adults, R50 for children and kids under the age of 12 enter free of charge.
