THE Uitenhage Lions Club’s initiative to raise funds with the aim of assisting to feed needy families in the Uitenhage and Despatch areas, has been a huge success.
They started with Roadhouse Fridays at the parking area adjacent their clubhouse at the back of Wuthering Heights in Uitenhage.
“Our first two Roadhouse Fridays were amazingly successful. We are totally blown away by the superb support from the residents of Uitenhage as well as Despatch,” said Raynard McLaren, president of the Uitenhage Lions Club.
“As a result of their support, we were able to raise more than R5 000. The money will be used to provide sustenance and support to needy families in the area.”
Tomorrow is again time for the Lions’ Roadhouse Friday from 16:30 to 20:00, with the next roadhouse to be held on Friday, August 7.
The public is requested to please pre-order to avoid disappointment. The menu has been altered slightly and includes the following: Burger & Chips (plain R35, saucy R40, cheese R40); Chips (medium R10, large R15); Curry & Rice R25; Cheese Griller Roll R20; Chicken schnitzel, chips & salad R45; Nuggets & chips R20; Viennas & chips R20; Lasagne & salad R25.
