The sudden passing of Manie “Kalla” Daniels on July 23 last year sent shock waves through his community, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and selflessness. To honour his memory and continue his remarkable work, the KallaManie Benefit Foundation was established.

Jamie-Lee Daniels, representing the Foundation, said, “We aim to carry on Kalla’s extraordinary commitment to helping others and empowering individuals to strive for more. His impact on countless lives will never be forgotten, and we’re determined to keep his spirit alive through our charitable efforts.”

The Foundation, registered as a Non-Profit Company (NPC), has already made a significant impact with its inaugural fund-raising event, the KallaManie Benefit Golf Day, held in May 2024 at Wedgewood Golf Club. The successful event brought together golfers and friends from all walks of life, raising vital funds for worthy causes.

This year’s beneficiary was the study centre for matriculants at John Walton Secondary School, a project close to Daniels’ heart. In early August, a cheque for R30 000 was presented to the school by Fredaline Daniels and Edwill Kilian, a member of the golf day organising committee.

Jamie-Lee Daniels expressed gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors who contributed to the event’s success, saying, “We’re overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown. We promise to make next year’s event even bigger and better, ensuring Kalla’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift our community.”

He concluded by saying the KallaManie Benefit Foundation is committed to supporting a different beneficiary each year, perpetuating Daniels’ selfless dedication to helping others. “As his legacy lives on, his impact will continue to be felt, inspiring future generations to make a positive difference.”
