At the recent South African Klawerjas Board of Control (SAKBOC) annual Inter-Union tournament held at the Uitenhage Town Hall, the Kariega Klawerjas Union made history by winning both sections.

The Kariega A-team competed in the first division and claimed both the Knock-Out and League trophies.

In addition, they achieved the highest board score, with the partnership of Andrew Domingo and Maurice Pillay earning the highest table score (60-18).

In the second division, the Kariega B-team delivered a record-breaking performance, winning all eight games.

The team swept all trophies, including the Knock-Out and League trophies, while also achieving the highest board score.

The partnership of Elrado Jansen and Clifford “Bull” McKenzie recorded the highest table score (50-12).

For winning the League trophy, the B-team is now promoted and will compete in the first division next year.

The Union extended its gratitude to everyone who supported them, as well as their sponsor, Councillor Georgen Miggels and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM).
