THE Jazz Town Rugby Club u/17 played against African Bombers on Saturday, July 2. It was entertaining rugby and the result was a 24-24 draw.
In the meantime the club has expanded with ladies’ soccer and cricket.
“We want to thank the community for their support. Two unemployed ladies, Moira Forbes and Fiona Bezuidenhout, have volunteered to hold a monthly bingo to assist the club and Gima Elie donated a bag of snacks for the players on match day. We are inviting the youth and community of Gerald Smith to get involved in the club to provide a bright future for all of us. We need to remind the community that the efforts of the club are also an attempt at crime prevention,” said club founder and coach Renald Ratangee.
“Effectively (owing to the different sporting codes on offer) the club is now a Sports Club, the Jazz Town Sports Club. We will in due course present to the public the Executive Committee.”
Ratangee added that Kurt Brown and Wayne Jansen would lead the cricket development.
