Two of the toughest and most inspiring adventure women in Nelson Mandela Bay will be guest speakers at the You are Not Alone breast cancer awareness breakfast to be hosted by Fathers House in Kariega on Saturday, 29 October.

International jewellery designer and ultra-triathlete, ultra-cyclist, mountaineer, international swimmer and a breast cancer survivor, Jenni Gault, will be the main speaker.

She recently returned from Kathmandu, Nepal, where she summited Everest Base Camp and Mount Kalapathar and went straight on to Miami for an international jewellery show, from where she video messaged the following on her Facebook: “Life is about going out and getting it, otherwise life is going to pass you by. Energy creates energy. Get out and be alive.”

Jenni also said, “The stories of our life are made complete with the highs and lows of the mountains we climb every minute of every day, to reach our goals. We must never lose sight of our summit when we slip, because when we slip, especially when we slip, a lesson is learnt, and a win is achieved.”

Local qualified personal trainer, sports and conditioning coach and Bootcamp Kariega owner Marinda Singleton will be the other inspiring guest speaker.

Pastor Anthony Jacobs from Father’s House Kariega said it is important for them as a church to be involved in the community in various ways with regard to matters of concern that affect most people, like breast cancer.

“We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we regard it as our responsibility to support this campaign by hosting this unique breakfast.

“Although a serious matter, the aim of the event is to offer information in a relaxed, caring atmosphere and to inspire women to take care of their health,” said Pastor Jacobs.

The You are Not Alone breast cancer awareness breakfast is organised by Sylvester Samora Williams, Head of Department Events at Father’s House Kariega.

“This event is close to my heart as my mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. Breast cancer statistics are very high, yet it is the loneliest and most silent path for an affected person,” said Williams.

“We would like to invite all interested women to come and enjoy this very inspirational morning. Apart from the guest speakers, some fashion will be shown by Braemor Design and Reach For Recovery breast cancer support group volunteers will be in attendance,” said Williams.

The You are Not Alone breakfast will be hosted at Father’s House Kariega, 81 John Street, on 29 October from 09:00 to 11:00. The dress code is Pink Happiness and tickets are R50 per person. To secure your ticket contact Johanna at 067 331 1698.

Marinda Singleton, personal trainer, sports and conditioning coach and Bootcamp Kariega owner will also be an inspiring guest speaker at the You are Not Alone breast cancer awareness breakfast.
