HAVING switched over to a fully digital online curriculum in January 2019, Fountain of Life’s Grade 12s were thrown in at the deep-end, but these “pioneers” have just graduated, and the school is absolutely thrilled with their results.
Desireé Steyn, the CEO and Principal of Fountain of Life Christian School in Uitenhage said, “It was risky switching over to a new curriculum and being only the second school in the country to do so at that time. We had no idea how well, or whether it would work. Now we have proof that it really works, and our students’ marks attest to it.
“We were looking for a Biblically-based, self-paced, individualized curriculum that meets the educational needs of today, with the traditional values of yesterday, and the technology of tomorrow, and SwitchedOn Education ticked all the boxes.”
Moreover, the students have been registered at the Nelson Mandela University, the University of Cape Town, the University of Pretoria, and Rhodes University, and the school is looking forward to more good things in the future.
Fountain of Life Christian School has been in operation since 1997 and provides quality education from Grade 0 to Grade 12. The school has moved to the old Boland Bank Building at 66 Caledon Street, and is looking forward to an even greater impact in town.
SwitchedOn Education was established in the United Kingdom by a visionary ex-South African couple, Graham and Cheryl Hill, when they established Bournemouth Christian School. The organisation has had rapid growth beyond the UK including 24 partner schools and five home based education academies in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
