Detectives from the police in Despatch are urgently looking for the driver of a grey Honda vehicle, who was allegedly involved in an accident with a pedestrian in Main Road, Despatch at about 06:30 on Saturday, 25 December 2021.
It is alleged that the pedestrian was waiting at the pedestrian crossing, when the first vehicle stopped and as the male pedestrian started to cross the road, the driver of a grey Honda vehicle failed to stop at the pedestrian crossing and collided with the pedestrian.
The vehicle drove over the leg of the victim and the driver failed to stop at the accident scene. Despatch detectives are also looking for any witnesses who have information about the accident. A case of reckless and negligent driving is under investigation.
