FOLLOWING the announcement that the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium would be the first Covid-19 isolation site in Nelson Mandela metropole, the support of residents is called upon for the donations of much needed linen.

Shane Brown, Nelson Mandela Bay’s disaster management head, said, “We call on all residents of Nelson Mandela Bay with unused, clean and good condition linen, pillows and bedding to consider donating them for use at the Bay’s COVID-19 isolation facility.

“Residents who wish to contribute can do so by bringing the goods, preferably wrapped in refuse bags or ordinary shopping bags to any Spar outlet in Nelson Mandela Bay,” said Brown.

About the Covid 10 isolation site linen drive:

  • The Municipality is preparing the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as a first isolation site
  • All linen received will be taken through a sanitisation process
  • All linen received will be directed to the NMB Stadium
  • Any excess linen will be directed to vulnerable homes, shelters and care centres
  • Linen donations can be made at any Spar outlet across Nelson Mandela Bay metropole.
