Despatch detectives are urgently seeking the driver of a vehicle that was allegedly involved in an accident with a pedestrian in Algoa Road, Despatch, last night, Monday, April 4.
At approximately 20:00, the driver of a VW T-Cross was travelling behind another vehicle in Algoa Road, when the driver suddenly heard something falling on top of her vehicle.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Gerda Swart, said that according to the woman, she immediately stopped and discovered the body of a man lying in the road.
“It is further alleged that the driver of the other vehicle failed to stop at the accident scene. A case of culpable homicide is under investigation. The name of the 52-year-old victim will be released once a formal identification is done,” Swart said.
