THE police in Despatch are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of an unidentified person.
On Friday, 30 April 2021 at about 18:40, an unknown pedestrian was fatally injured after he was allegedly hit by a white Toyota Fortuner on the R75 freeway.
The deceased is believed to be in his 70’s and was clad in black jeans, blue takkies and a grey jacket. He is of medium build and approximately 1,68m tall.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.

Unknown body found at Jachtvlakte
In an unrelated incident, Despatch detectives are urgently trying to locate the next-of-kin of an unidentified man who was found murdered next to the gravel road in Jachtvlakte on Saturday, 24 April 2021.
According to police information the body was found by a community member and the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his face.
The unknown deceased was clothed in a blue jacket, grey tracksuit trousers and white takkies.
