DURING Child Protection Week, annually held in the month of June, social workers from the Uitenhage Child and Family Welfare Society distributed pamphlets disseminating information on child abuse and the COVID-19 pandemic in the western region of Uitenhage and KwaNobuhle.

Whilst conducting the awareness programme in Moeggesukkel, an extension of Rosedale, the staff members observed that children were not wearing masks.

It was decided to take action and during Mandela Day, masks were handed out to the children of Moeggesukkel. In addition 100 children were fed with soup and bread.

The Uitenhage Child and Family Welfare Society would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all sponsors for their contributions as well as the community members who assisted in making this event a success.
