BUCO Kariega will tomorrow, June 3 officially open its doors at a brand-new building in Durban Street. Adding to the excitement, they announced a new edition to their brand-new store with the launch of Timbercity.
BUCO’s history dates back to the 1980s to a building supply store in Durban Street known as The Uitenhage Sawmills. It was a family-owned business run by the Greenstein family who lived in Barkly Street.
During 2008 The Uitenhage Sawmills was bought by the Iliad (BUCO) group and in 2012 The Uitenhage Sawmills officially changed its name to BUCO.
Now, nearly ten years ago to the day, not only has the town’s name changed to Kariega, but BUCO has moved premises to a brand-new location, 145-147 Durban Street.

The considerably larger new BUCO premises, measuring 1700 m² offers the people of Kariega a superb shopping experience, a wide variety of building and home renovation products at competitive prices.
