Boxer often calls regional manager for Soul Food Gqeberha, Eric Mtyobo, to assist with donations of surplus stock and food to their surrounding communities. In one of the latest calls, Soul Foods was able also to bless creches as well as communities at Addo.
Boxer Cleary Park donated a truckload of meat and bread, which Eric happily loaded in his Soul Food truck, fondly named “JP”, and took off to his warehouse to sort for his community. Boxer Uitenhage also called Eric to come and visit for their donation of potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, apples, peaches, meat as well as 400 boxes of 30 large eggs.
Following this much-appreciated donation, Eric was able to bless many ECDs and schools as well as community centres across Addo and Gqeberha.
In Addo, Eric visited the Abethu Creche as well as the Langbos Creche to help the little boys and girls get their egg-rich breakfast. He then visited the Langbos community which immediately started planning an omelette breakfast day for the following morning.
“I am very grateful to my valuable Boxer outlets in my area,” Eric said “I salute the management team and staff at the Boxer stores for always considering their community when they have surplus stock. With their help, we are able to reach so many more people in need.”
Soul Food is reliant on help from their communities, either financially or with food donations. Eric is happy to collect any surplus food items from retail outlets or local farms, which is then distributed to his network of pre-approved and vetted schools and community centres in the area.
