The annual “Winter Nights” project of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South was not only supported by the public, but also the local Victory Riders Bikers.
This commitment prompted contact with the Black Mountains Chapter of the Harley Owners Group in Swansea, UK, who also made a brilliant donation.
In the end a total of 100 blankets, plus 150 clothing packs, scarves, coats, and 120 beanies were collected or sponsored.
On Mandela Day the Rotary club members did their (extra) 67 minutes by visiting Lapland, to set up a service point where 400 mugs of piping hot wholesome soup and all the collected blankets and clothing, were distributed.
