The holiday season has brought extra joy to the Thysse family from Kariega as baby Elea Thysse has been named the winner of the UD Express Christmas Baby Competition 2024.
This momentous occasion marks a special milestone for Elea and her family: mom, Natasha Thysse and dad, Juan Thysse, as they prepare to celebrate her first Christmas.
Juan expressed his joy, “Celebrating baby’s first Christmas is such a big milestone for us as a new family, and we feel very blessed as we get to start new traditions and experience her first Christmas and all the magical moments with her. Winning the competition was just the cherry on the cake.”
The Thysse family is thrilled to start new festive traditions with Elea. “We have booked to go and see the Christmas vivid village lights display, so we would like to uphold that as a tradition and find spots where we can see Christmas lights or houses that have been decorated each year. I also grew up baking cookies each December, so that is something we would like to carry on with,” Juan explained.
Recalling the moment he received the exciting news, Juan said, “I was sitting on the floor in the lounge, playing with her when I received the call. I was quite shocked when I heard that she had won. The rest of the family was elated when we told them the news.”
With Elea’s arrival, the festive season has added a new dynamic to the family’s usual routines. “We definitely need to take a lot more things with us going anywhere these days,” Juan chuckled.
One of the highlights for Elea this Christmas is expected to be the opening of presents. “She enjoys opening things and is very inquisitive,” Juan mentioned.
Describing Elea’s personality, Juan said, “She is a very bubbly, inquisitive, friendly, content baby.”
While Elea does not have siblings yet, the Thysse family looks forward to expanding their family in the future. For now, they cherish the magic of Christmas with their little star, Elea.
