In a significant step toward revitalising local sporting infrastructure, key stakeholders recently gathered at the Love Life Centre in KwaNobuhle for an important Sport, Arts and Culture Task Team meeting.

The session focused on evaluating progress made in the rebuild of the Multi-Purpose Centre and establishing a framework for the revival of the KwaNobuhle Sport Forum.

Jay Philip, the meeting convener and representative from Love Life Centre said that the meeting brought together representatives from various sectors including the Task Team, Municipal officials, and distinguished participants such as Ambassador Smuts Ngonyama.

This collaborative approach underscores the commitment to ensuring community involvement in the development and management of local sporting facilities.

During the proceedings, participants reflected on the advances made through consultations with the Municipality, highlighting the importance of intergovernmental cooperation and strengthening relationships with the National Department.

Security concerns at the facilities emerged as a critical issue, prompting recommendations for the establishment of Facility Management Committees (FMCs) and the revival of the KwaNobuhle Sport Forum to enhance oversight and community participation.

“The project stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the Minister’s presentation upon his return to Kariega, which will outline the project’s future direction and key milestones.” Philip said.

He added that as stakeholders continue to collaborate on this initiative, the revival of local sports forums stands as a testament to the community’s dedication to creating sustainable and secure sporting environments for the residents of KwaNobuhle.

The meeting represents an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote active community participation in sporting activities.
