THE Nelson Mandela University Choir will be having a concert on September 15 at the Uitenhage Congregational Church in pre- paration for the Kuesta University Choral Festival.

NMU Choir member, Ethan Van Sensie said the concert which will take place at 16:00 is a way to prepare themselves for the biannual Kuesta University Choral Festival which is the most prestige choral festival in South Africa at the end of the month in Potchefstroom.

“This is the first time in years that the choir will be having a full-length concert in Uitenhage,” he said.

The choir which is directed by NMU music teacher Junita van Dijk has participated in numerous national and international choir events.

“The choir has performed songs such as African traditional, classical and Western European to name a few, which has enabled them to be showcased locally, nationally and on the global stage. It has also notched up numerous awards in the process,” said Van Sensie.

Entry to the performance in Uitenhage is free.
