DANIEL Pienaar THS cricketing highlight of the weekend was the result of the first team who faced arch rivals Brandwag.
DP bowled Brandwag out for 173. Dante Darries took 3 wickets for 37 runs in 9 overs and Alex Randall took 3 wickets for 46 runs in 10 overs.
Cameron Williams scored 80 not out. Daniel Pienaar achieved the target and won by no fewer than 6 wickets.
The DP second team also faced Brandwag on Saturday. DP lost the toss and batted first. They scored 154 in 30 overs after being bowled out. Batsmen who proved their worth were Ceagan Bothma (43), Cardo (33), Barend Spies (20) and JP Veldtman (20 n/o).
The bowlers proved themselves to be invaluable. Julyan Samuels 7 overs, 4 wickets for 15 runs. Caleb Jaggers 5 overs, 3 wickets for 25 runs.
JP Veldtman 3 overs, 1 wicket for 8 runs. Barend Spies 3 overs, 1 wicket for 12 runs and Devon Nel 1 ball, 1 wicket for no runs. Daniel Pienaar won by 60 runs.
