The President has spoken and events at this stage remain open, so mountain bikers are invited to the Cyclo Pro Fat Tracks Longmore Classic MTB which will be held on Sunday with the start and finish at Crossways.

This event offers spectacular trails and mountain views with four distances to choose from: 50km, 30km, 15km or 5km (e-bikes: 30km & 50km). There will be well stocked waterpoints with Powerade at the finish, medals for all finishers and more than R20 000 worth of prizes and lucky draw prizes.

Fat Tracks is the first mountain bicycle club in South Africa. It was established in 1989 and has seen substantial growth, especially over the past three years. It is a leader in the growth of mountain biking in the country and recognises the importance of catering for all mountain biking needs, irrespective of levels of discipline, fitness, and skill.

Over the past two years, Fat Tracks has been building, maintaining, and rehabilitating several trails around Nelson Mandela Bay. This is all made possible through the investment and sponsorship of Continental SA. Some of their achievements include that they have used about nine tons of wood to contain erosion, have reinstated four river crossings, and have used more than 700 metres of weed eater cord to keep trails in good condition. Owing to their trails and the maintenance thereof, there was a 300% increase in multi-user trail use.
