The Uitenhage Bowling Club hosted yet another successful Business League, which was played over a period of five weeks. With a winning score of 10-8 the team of Calbis Blue Bottle Liquor Store was crowned champions of the very league they sponsored.

The Bowling Club would like to thank Christo Human, Jaco Human and Erich Human from Calbis Blue Bottle Liquor Store, for not only sponsoring the league, but also sponsoring each of the 34 teams with prizes.

The competition was extremely tight. After the fourth week the top two teams were on the same points with 3rd, 4th and 5th only separated by two points. At the end the team from Clamping Technology was the runner-up with team Rotary South in third position.

“Thanks to every single team for entering. This League would not be possible without entries as well as a massive sponsor from Calbis,” said Jason Kennedy, Uitenhage Bowling Club’s Club Captain.

“Well done also to Tiaan van der Bank for making it through to the EP Novice Singles Playoffs where he narrowly missed out on a top position. Also well done to Quinton Barnard for making the EP Open Singles Playoffs. This was the second year in a row. Well done to both players.”

In second position was team Clamping Technology (from left) with Lambert van Straaten, Jason Kennedy (Club Captain), André Petzer, Chris Petzer and Lodewyk Vlooh.

In third position was team Rotary South with (from left) Tash Dormer, Jason Kennedy (Club Captain), Mahesh Bobby Karsan, Marilyn Klassen, Francois Dorfling (Manager), Ralph Meintjes and Leo Doria.
