The Colchester Development Run was held in icy weather conditions from Mackay Bridge Angling Club in Colchester last Saturday.
This event, which is presented in partnership with Eastern Province Athletics and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality as part of the Legacy Project, attracted over 500 runners, for the 10km and 5km distances.
Thabang Mosiako, running for Boxer Athletic Club, stormed to the finish in 0.29.06, followed by top local athlete, Melikhaya Frans of Ikhamva Athletic Club in 0.29.27. This was Melikhaya’s last race as part of his preparations for the World Marathon Championships next month.
