Police in Kariega are warning the community to consider their actions before buying or receiving stolen property as they will find themselves on the wrong side of the law if found in possession of suspected stolen property.
“The community is urged to reject and report any person/s buying or selling suspected stolen items,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart.
This warning follows numerous reports of theft which were received pertaining to sliding gate motors, swimming pool pumps and electric water pumps.
“SAPS Uitenhage are investigating several cases of theft.
Police are appealing to second hand dealers to alert them whenever anyone comes in to sell these items.
“At the same time, police are warning the communities and business owners not to buy or receive stolen property as they will be held accountable if found in possession of the suspected stolen property,” said Captain Swart.
