The spirit of camaraderie and excellence filled the air at Kariega Dojo’s annual prizegiving ceremony, held on February 24.
Students, instructors, and families gathered to celebrate the achievements of the past year and to look forward to the promising year ahead.
Sensei Stephen Bothma, the esteemed head instructor of Kariega Dojo, expressed his pride in the dedication and progress of each student.
“Today is not just about the trophies and awards, but about recognising the hard work, perseverance and growth that each of our karateka has shown.”
The ceremony was a testament to the dojo’s commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for its members.
From beginners to advanced students, each participant was acknowledged for their unique contributions to the dojo and karate family.
The highlight of the morning was the presentation of awards, where students were recognised for their achievements in and overall progress throughout the year.
Kariega Dojo is a member of the International Federation of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa (IFFSKSA) and is affiliated to Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association (FSKA) and World Union of Karate Do Federations (WUKF)
