IN a proactive move to enhance student safety and improve communication channels, Despatch Preparatory School held a comprehensive meeting with its transport drivers recently. The meeting brought together over 30 drivers who are responsible for transporting learners to and from the institution.
The school’s Deputy Principal, Asja Strydom, said, “The primary focus of the gathering was to address the safety concerns of students during their daily commute and to establish a more effective communication framework between the drivers and the school administration.”
The meeting provided an open forum where drivers could voice their concerns and suggest improvements. Many drivers expressed the need for a direct communication line with school staff to report issues promptly. Others requested more detailed information about student behaviour policies and disciplinary measures.
“The drivers felt having a clear understanding of what is expected from them and what we can expect from the school helps them do their jobs,” Strydom concluded.
