Progress Rugby Club were crowned the three-time consecutive André Rademan Eastern Province Rugby u/21 champions at the Adcock Stadium on August 17.

It was a nailbiting encounter against Parks for the young guns of Progress, but their efforts during the last minutes of the match ensured that the title was brought back to Kariega.

Being crowned champions, the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DRAC) decided to award Progress u/21 an international match against the German Lower Saxony Sport Federation u/21 team on September 28 that will be part of the South African Heritage Month celebrations.

The Eastern Province Rugby Union and the Uitenhage Substructure, in collaboration with DSRAC and local schools and clubs, are planning a rugby extravaganza on the day where South African cultures and the unique rugby atmosphere of Kariega will be showcased at the Central Field.

Progress Rugby Club encourages local businesses to be part of the special occasion and will welcome sponsorship of any nature when they host the German team.

They also called on the Kariega community to make this day a huge success.
