The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South’s annual Tree of Joy kicked off at Corkwood Square on Saturday.

The club has identified over 300 recipients of all ages, from tiny tots to the elderly who live in local communities.

Clive Hassell, President of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South, said,

We are asking the public to choose an individual person’s card and buy them the gift they have requested. It might be the only one they get for Christmas.

“Of course, corporate help will also be gratefully accepted. This year’s Tree of Joy was kicked off by Corkwood Square management, who donated 20 presents as the project opened.”

The club will be at the tree until Saturday afternoon, helped by members from some of the local school Interact clubs, who will even do the shopping for you if you like.
