Kruisrivier: Businessman, Ebrahim Moosa (74) abducted outside workplace

The SAPS Provincial Organised Crime and Anti-Gang Unit are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing a 74-year-old businessman, Ebrahim Moosa, who was kidnapped outside his workplace on Cuyler Street in Kruisrivier, this morning, February 11.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, stated that according to the information, it is alleged that at approximately 10:00, Moosa stopped at his workplace on Cuyler Street in Kruisrivier, where it is further alleged that another vehicle followed him onto the premises and blocked him.

“Three suspects got out of the vehicle and forced the victim into a double cab LDV.

“The suspects drove off in an unknown direction,” she reported.

“The motive for the kidnapping is unclear at this stage; however, a police investigation is underway,” she explained.

Police are now appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing Moosa to contact Colonel Alvira van Staaden at 082 319 8424, Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or the nearest police station.

“All information is confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.”

As previously reported by the Express, there has been a string of business owner-related kidnappings in the Nelson Mandela Bay area.

In January, two business owners in Gqeberha were kidnapped just days apart: one in Sidwell on January 18 and another in Korsten on January 19.
