Despatch police are investigating a fatal house fire that broke out in the early hours of Sunday, March 2, on Andries Pretorius Street in Despatch, claiming the lives of three adults.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, identified the victims as Stephanus Barnard (57), Jessica Ferreira (31), and Anika Ferreira (24).
Beetge stated that the house fire occurred at approximately 01:30 and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
“An inquest case has been opened and is being investigated by SAPS Despatch,” he added.
