Despatch SAPS detectives are appealing to members of the community to assist in identifying an unknown woman who was found murdered in the Khayamnandi area.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, the incident occurred on 21 May 2026 at approximately 21:40.
“Police were despatched to bushes in the Khayamnandi area after receiving information from radio control that assistance was required at the scene,” she said. “Upon arrival, members were met by a police official who pointed out the body of an unknown female, believed to be approximately 30-years-old, in the bushes.”
Janse Van Rensburg added that the victim had short, black, curly hair and had sustained multiple bruises to her body as well as a head wound. “Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and certified the victim deceased.
“A murder case was opened for investigation and detectives are following up on all available leads,” she stated.
Police are urging anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the victim, or who may have information regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer C. Jonck, on 082 949 7154.
“Information may also be provided anonymously through the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111,” Janse Van Rensburg concluded.
