The KallaManie Benefit Foundation will host its third annual charity golf day on 8 August 2026, returning to its home at Uitenhage Golf Club.

This year’s event aims to raise vital funds for the Uitenhage Mental Health Homes, which are in urgent need of everyday essentials.

The initiative continues the foundation’s mission to honour the life and legacy of the late Manie “Kalla” Daniels. A dedicated educator at John Walton High School for 37 years and a passionate golfer, Daniels earned Eastern Province colours on multiple occasions and also served as captain. Born on 9 July 1963, he passed away on 23 July 2023, leaving behind a lasting impact on the Kariega community.

The annual golf day stands as a tribute to his commitment to service, sport and community upliftment.

The Uitenhage Mental Health Homes comprise four residences in the Kariega area, collectively caring for 73 patients. As a non-profit organisation, they provide compassionate, long-term care for individuals living with mental illness. Services include accommodation, medical care, meals, rehabilitation, and daily stimulation programmes, ensuring residents are supported in all aspects of their lives.

Currently, the homes are in urgent need of basic items such as bed linen, cutlery, crockery and tablecloths.

Bookings for the golf day are now open, with entry set at R350 per player or R2,000 per sponsored fourball. Participants can look forward to a day filled with prizes, welcome packs on arrival, and water holes along the course.

While the event will make a meaningful contribution, the foundation acknowledges that the needs extend beyond what the golf day alone can raise. Businesses and individuals are therefore encouraged to contribute, either financially or through in-kind donations, to help make a lasting difference.

For bookings, contact the Uitenhage Golf Club on 041 966 1868. For sponsorship opportunities or further information, contact Jamie-Lee Daniels on 061 094 3593 or Jeffrey du Preez on 082 903 2694.
