JEFFREYS BAY – The Kouga Business Forum has shared a positive update on the development of the long-awaited private hospital at Fountains Estate in Jeffreys Bay.
According to the forum, a key meeting took place on 22 April in Gqeberha, where Studio D’Arc Architects, CA du Toit Consulting Engineers, Menlo Construction, and the hospital developer convened to advance the project.
Lieb Swiegers, chairperson of the forum, said that the formal appointment of the professional team was the primary focus of the meeting, and this process is now underway, with the architect set to serve as project manager.
He said that following the meeting, the project team visited the newly opened Cure Day Hospital in Newton Park.
The facility, delivered jointly by Studio D’Arc and CA du Toit, offered valuable insight into design elements and finishes that will help inform the Jeffreys Bay hospital project.
“Final specification validation for the development is still required and is expected to be completed within the next two to three weeks,” said Swiegers.
Once finalised, he said that the architect will proceed with preparing detailed construction drawings for the mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as the building contractor.
“This marks another important step toward bringing much-needed healthcare infrastructure to our community,” said Swiegers.
The forum indicated that further updates will be shared as progress continues.
