A long-standing educational institution in Kariega is set to commemorate its 20th anniversary with two special fundraising events this weekend, with proceeds going towards charitable work in Madagascar.

Threefold Cord Home Education Academy, established in 2005 under the leadership of Timothy and Una Coeries, will host a Praise & Worship Benefit Concert this evening, Friday, May 30, followed by The Covenant-Family Summit tomorrow, Saturday, May 31.

The Academy, which has been providing support to home schooling families for two decades, aims to use these celebratory events to give back to communities both locally and internationally.

“With hearts filled with gratitude, we want to donate the proceeds of these events to a school for orphans and underprivileged children in Mahajanga, Madagascar,” said Una Coeries. The beneficiary school is being supported by missionary Nicolene Rakotonandrasana, originally from Kariega, and her husband Rollan.

The Praise & Worship Benefit Concert will take place at the Uitenhage Town Hall from 18:00 to 21:00 on Friday evening, featuring performances by local artists and home school learners. Tickets are priced at R30 for children under 12 and R50 for adults, with refreshments available at a tuckshop on site.

The following day, The Covenant-Family Summit will be held at The Uitenhage Baptist Church on Dodd Street, Levyvale from 09:00 to 15:00. The summit will feature speakers addressing important topics including “Real Families”, “The Effects of Digital Addiction”, “Biblical Education”, and “Homelessness in Our Towns and Cities”. The R120 ticket price includes tea, coffee and lunch.

The Coeries family, who have been home schooling their own children since 1993, established the Academy in 2005 and have since provided faithful support to countless home schooling families in the region.

“We would love to invite our community to support these events by sowing into a mission that strengthens families here at home, while also extending hope to communities abroad,” Una said.

Those interested in attending either event can purchase tickets by contacting 081 313 5143 or registering online for The Covenant-Family Summit.
