An interactive workshop aimed at emotional wellness will be presented at Rust-en-Vrede Art Gallery and Clay Museum on Thursday 6 August.

This workshop is being presented by Rust-en-Vrede committee member Renier Rademeyer, an internationally accredited life coach and business mentor with more than 40 years’ experience, to raise funds for the gallery’s projects.

It also forms part of Women’s Day celebrations.

Inner landscape

This interactive workshop, titled “Happiness Is an Inside Job”, is specifically designed to help participants explore their inner landscape of harmony, balance and emotional well-being through practical reflection, guided discussion and personal insight.

Life choices will be unpacked through practical sessions in which introspection of behavioural blueprints will guide participants towards developing a roadmap to a happy future.

The impact that mindfulness, habits and behavioural blueprints, neuroplasticity and happiness have on one’s life will be explored.

The workshop will be presented from 08:30 to 17:00. Lunch will be from 13:00 to 14:00, with pre-booked lunches available at 45 Squares for participants’ own account.

The cost is R550 per person.

Group exhibitions

Two current group exhibitions, titled “Forty” and “Tomorrow Is Listening”, celebrate Rust-en-Vrede’s 40th anniversary and feature a diverse range of artists and artworks.

These exhibitions will be on view until 8 August.

Also during Women’s Month, two new exhibitions will open on Saturday 15 August at 11:00.

One is by Theo Paul Vorster, marking 20 years as a linocut artist. He held his first solo linocut exhibition with Rust-en-Vrede Gallery in 2006.

Alongside Theo’s exhibition, the Clay Museum will present an exhibition focusing on the reinterpretation of espresso cups, titled “Tazzina” (Italian for “espresso cup”).

This exhibition features works by Italian, Mexican and South African artists.
