The fields at the Lentegeur Sports Field are in the final stages of preparation for the inaugural Mitchell’s Plain Youth Cup.
Kicking off on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, 16 u-18 teams will take to three fields for two days of soccer action.
With a final walk through of the facility complete, the event gates open at 08:00, with the first games kicking off at 09:00.
Teams will battle it out for a R15 000 cash prize.

Tight security will be on site and spectators are reminded of important exclusions for the duration of the event.
- No alcohol, food and drinks, drugs, hookah pipes or political paraphernalia will be allowed.
- Also, no gazebos or umbrellas will be allowed.
- Entry will cost R10 per person and R10 per car.
- Camping chairs and hats are allowed.
- Bags and vehicles will be searched.
Ward 76 councillor and tournament director Avron Plaatjies hosted a delegation of sponsors, vendors and invested parties at the final field-readiness walk-through on Friday 11 October.
Sponsors and supporters of the event are Watergate Centre, Kwena Group Holdings, Liberty Promenade Mall, MTN, Peninsula Beverages, Albany, Comtel, Elements Garden and Winelands Productions. The tournament is also supported by SAFA Cape Town, the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape Government. Lentegeur Football Club is the 2024 football partner.
