The Voortrekker Road Improvement Corridor District (VRCID) says it believes that their beautification project can help deter crime and boost local business. The organisation has until now beautified the islands along Voortrekker Road in Parow leading into Bellville. They are now however calling on the help of the public to contribute to its project, and so doing make a positive impact in their community.
“As the VRCID, we are passionate about enhancing our community and making a positive impact. One way we do this is through beautification projects. We believe that a well-maintained environment can deter crime and boost local business,” explains Frederick (Freddy) Adriaanse, VRCID Parow precinct manager.
Adriaanse says that they are always on the lookout for open spaces to transform into vibrant gardens or green areas. Not only does this create a welcoming atmosphere, but it also contributes to a sense of safety and community pride, he says.
“As a non-profit organisation, we rely heavily on donations and sponsorships to bring these projects to life. If you are a local business or resident with materials that could contribute to our efforts – plants, tree stumps, natural elements, or paint, we are especially in need of various colors to tackle graffiti, we would love to hear from you,” says Adriaanse.
He says by working together, they can create a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant Parow area that benefits everyone.
“Get in touch with us to explore how you can contribute,” Adriaanse says.
