James Vos, Mayco member for economic growth, has invited entrepreneurs, small-business owners and aspiring businesspeople to a Business Activation event at the Bellville Civic Centre on Thursday 25 June 2026.
The event, which runs from 10:00 to 14:00, brings a range of partners offering services, support, advice and opportunities together to help businesses start up and scale up.
One-on-one advisory sessions
At the heart of the event are short, one-on-one advisory sessions facilitated by the City of Cape Town’s Business Hub team. Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis, with quick registration available at the venue. Each session runs for 10 minutes and a maximum of two representatives per business may attend.
“Come and engage directly with the City of Cape Town’s Business Hub team through short one-on-one advisory sessions designed to help your business grow and overcome challenges,” said Vos.
Support on offer
Business Hub advisers will be available to assist with a wide range of needs, including:
- Business planning and growth
- Supplier and procurement opportunities
- Referrals to financial institutions and financial agencies
- Business registration and compliance guidance
- Training and skills development programmes
- General business support and advice
Those attending are encouraged to bring their questions, ideas, challenges, or opportunities so that advisors can connect them with the right support.
Building a stronger economy
Vos said the Business Activation had been arranged to make it easier for businesses to start up and scale up. “When businesses grow, they create jobs, unlock opportunities and help build a stronger economy for everyone.”
