The national electricity utility Eskom says senior management in the Western Cape visited the natural heritage site near Kleinbosch recently where a trespasser is living under the Eskom lines.
The visit was conducted on Friday 11 March, says Kyle Cookson, Eskom spokesperson.
Eskom was responding to the complaints of a resident in Boschheuvel Street in Kleinbosch, Vanessa Witten, who told TygerBurger that she and her family are living in fear and are concerned for their safety.
The area of the heritage site in question lies between Malmesbury Road and Giel Basson Drive.
The vagrant allegedly moved into the area in May last year.
“He has desecrated the area and continues to expand his territory with rubbish,” Witten told the newspaper a week before.
The structure was erected right behind Witten’s house.
