The Cape Town weather played along and in favour of the Table View Community Outreach Project, held on Friday 23 August at the Table View Police Station’s front lawn.
Various partners showcased their roles and responsibilities to the community and interacted with the public who came to visit the outreach.
The Community Outreach focused on creating awareness of crimes affecting women, children and the vulnerable in our society.Organisations that were part of the project include the Department of Social Development, Victim Support Volunteers of Table View Police Station, Table View Seniors, A21 – Human Trafficking, the Table View Community Police Forum (CPF), Community Intervention Centre (CIC), Tender Love and Care (TLC), the Table View Neighbourhood Watch and Sunningdale Spar.
“The community was very impressed to hear about the involvement of the various partners and eager to hear how they could get involved. These partners play a pivotal role with the police, and their presence had a great positive impact on the continued awareness efforts,” says Table View police spokesperson, Capt Adriana Chandler.
An outreach of this nature is held once a quarter, and the next one will be advertised on the partners’ Facebook page.
