Lisa and Anathi Booysen from Bonteheuwel do not only want to create employment for themselves, but also for other young people.

The two sisters, both students, couldn’t find any paying jobs during the hard lockdown, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but did not dwell on their fate.

“We were looking for work, but businesses were also struggling so we could not find any work. We put our heads together and decided that we are both passionate about cleaning,” says Lisa.

Anathi says they used to wash windows at their pastor’s house and realised that they were really good.

“We decided to start Waxout Window Wipers and clean people’s windows. Our business has been growing steadily and more customers are coming along to support us,” says Anathi.

The sisters, who study electrical engineering and business administration, say they dream of expanding the business so that they can also do cleaning at bigger businesses and ad more services.

“One of our main goals is to employ other young people to help alleviate poverty in the community. We are dreaming big and if we can make a difference in the lives of others, we will be very glad,” says Lisa.

The sisters say their business doesn’t interfere with their studies because they live a balanced life.
