The Shoprite Usave store in Sarepta was engulfed in flames after a fire broke out around 06:30 this morning.
According to residents in the area, the fire department arrived on the scene approximately an hour later.
In a video message sent from the scene, ward councillor for Kuils River, Wouter de Vos said the fire “had been contained but not fully extinguished”.
The son of the store owners said the damage inside the store was extensive.
