It was déjà vu for first responders at the intersection of the R27 and Marine Drive, right by the Dolphin Beach Hotel, as another collision occurred at almost the same time and place as last week’s incident.
This time, a MyCiti bus carrying 60 passengers collided with a motor vehicle carrying two occupants. Despite the scale of the crash, the outcome was far better than it could have been — only seven people sustained minor to moderate injuries and required transportation to hospital.
“It feels like déjà vu at the intersection of the R27 and Marine Drive, right by Dolphin Beach Hotel — because it is. Same time, same place last week. What stands out is the remarkable outcome: out of 60 passengers on the bus and two occupants in the motor vehicle, only seven patients sustained minor to moderate injuries requiring transportation to hospital. This outcome is a testament to the exceptional coordination and teamwork among all emergency services involved,” said Community Medics.
Authorities and emergency teams are urging motorists to remain cautious when navigating this busy intersection.
