Good observance by a resident secured the arrest of a 21-year-old man for theft from a motor vehicle.

Capt Waynne Theunis, spokesperson for Goodwood police, says the good samaritan saw how the suspect stole two centre caps from a VW Golf on Wednesday 16 March at about 14:00. He ran after and managed to apprehend the suspect and handed him over to the Goodwood police.

The stolen caps were found in possession of the suspect who appeared in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court on a charge of theft from a motor vehicle.

“The Goodwood police once again thank members of the public who do not turn a blind eye to criminal activities. This is proof that we can achieve more in combatting crime if all of us do our part,” says Theunis.
