The Ravensmead police is celebrating removing another firearm from the streets of Ravensmead.
According to Capt Odwa Makupula, police spokesperson, the Ravensmead crime prevention unit officers were busy with visibility patrol duties in Ravensmead East when an unknown community member approached the police and informed them about a male suspect who was in possession of a firearm and a magazine with live rounds.

“While officers were patrolling in Pinedene Street, they noticed a man fitting the exact description. They approached him and he dropped the firearm next to him on the ground. An officer picked up the firearm and arrested a 22- year-old suspect,” says Makupula.
The suspect already appeared in court.
