The Western Cape police flying squad swooped in on a vehicle transporting perlemoen in Table View today (9 May).
Table View police station commander, Colonel Dirk Vosloo, says as officers approached the white bakkie the occupants stopped and fled the scene.
They left behind a vehicle filled with perlemoen in blue council bags. At this stage no arrests have been made and the value of the perlemoen has not been established.
